For Newcomers to VSA

"I would tell anyone that is interested in learning how to sail to do what I did, that is - show up
on Sundays and Wednesdays
" <Mark Wissner - member>

"Getting on a boat to crew for the afternoon is not a problem. You learn the boats controls quickly and
by the second time out, the boat should feel very familiar.
"
<Michael Sampson - associatte member>

"Many of our skippers don’t find out that they do not have a full crew until right before the races.
Many times your best chance to get out for a sail on Sunday is to show up and be ready.
Racing starts at 1:30. Boats are usually being prepared starting at noon.
Come on out and enjoy
the day. Worst-case scenario is you’ll be stuck on the committee boat. Best case you’ll win the race!"
<Mike Reed - past VSA Commodore>

"The sail, the play of its pulse so like our own lives: so thin and yet so full of life, so noiseless
when it labors hardest, so noisy and impatient when least effective". <Henry David Thoreau>
